Time to improve

Here is my presentation of Mid-Semester
Fabricing the Fabrics........
.......Printing the prints
Fabric-board
So the critique at the presentation was divided in two:
First I got feedback on the actual blog, and then on the collection I designed.
I was told my blog was very good and structured, which made me very happy. The concept of "must have what you have" and "kleptofashioning" was very strong and innovative, and that I should definitely continue with my blog even after the project.... (Which I will definitely DO!!)
--> Critique by Yaara Keydar (Graduate of Shenkar College, check out her website and blog!)
The critique for the collection was less great, but after taking a step back I must say I totally agree with the things that were said. I was told that the concept of my project and the prints I made for the collection were very strong, but when I got to the design part I lost myself a bit. Looking back I admit I got so focussed on getting the prints and fabrics right, I put the design part second. However, the fact that I was told I was on the right path, is a good sign and I am now full of ideas to start designing!!
--> Critique by Rachel Berman-Hadari (professor at Shenkar College) So Lets Get To Work!!

The inspiration

With all the closets I Kleptofashioned, I "built" my personal closet of inspiration.
(click on the picture to see bigger)
In the collection I want to join pieces I found in totally different closets and connect them with fabric/print/shape. I will work with fabrics that you normally wouldn't pair, and I want to use a lot of prints, so that majorly I will have synthetic fabrics in the collection. I decided to make a Black&White (and shades of grey) collection, I'm now working on some patterns that I will upload later.
